Short version
- No personal data is collected by Hoop Lab itself. All calculator inputs run in your browser. We don't have a server logging them.
- No accounts. There is no login, no signup, no profile.
- No tracking scripts of our own. We don't run analytics, session recorders, or fingerprinting on this site.
- Third-party advertising cookies are set by Google AdSense. Those are governed by Google's policies, not ours.
What Hoop Lab itself does and doesn't collect
What we don't collect
- Calculator inputs (body mass, jump height, FG%, position, etc.) — all processed client-side, never sent to our server
- Personal identifiers — name, email, IP, device ID
- Browsing behavior on this site — no analytics script, no event tracking
- Cookies set by us — none
What we do collect (limited)
- Server logs. Like every web server, basic request metadata (URL, status code, time, your IP address) is logged briefly for operational and abuse-prevention purposes. Logs are rotated and not retained long-term.
- Email if you write to us. If you contact us, we receive the email you send. We use it to respond. We don't add you to a marketing list.
Google AdSense and third-party advertising
Hoop Lab displays ads served by Google AdSense. When you load a page with ads, Google may set cookies or use local storage on your device to deliver and measure ads.
What Google AdSense does:
- Sets cookies (or reads existing ones) to recognize your browser across sites
- Uses browsing context (site topic, general geographic region) to decide which ads to show
- Measures ad performance — which ads were shown, clicked, or converted
- May use this information to personalize ads shown on other Google properties and partner sites
What this means for you:
- Google (not Hoop Lab) decides what data AdSense cookies collect
- You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads
- You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on if relevant
- EU/UK users see ads labeled appropriately per local consent regulations

Other third parties we use
Tailwind CSS CDN
We load Tailwind CSS from a CDN to style the site. The CDN provider may log the request (URL, IP, user agent). Tailwind itself does not set cookies or track you across sites.
Font Awesome CDN
We load Font Awesome icons from a CDN. The CDN provider may log requests. Font Awesome itself does not set tracking cookies.
Children's privacy
Hoop Lab is a general-audience site and does not target children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. If you are under 13, please use this site with a parent or guardian.

Your choices and controls
Disable cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may break some site features and will prevent personalized ads from Google.
Opt out of personalized ads
Visit google.com/settings/ads to opt out of personalized advertising. You can also visit aboutads.info for industry-level opt-outs.
EU/UK consent
If you are in the EU or UK, Google's ad serving handles consent per the ePrivacy Directive and UK GDPR. You may see a consent banner on your first visit, depending on your region and Google configuration.
Do Not Track
We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Since we don't run our own analytics, there's nothing to suppress on our side; Google's ad serving has its own DNT handling.
Data retention
- Server logs: retained briefly (typically under 30 days) for operational purposes, then deleted
- Calculator inputs: never transmitted, never stored
- Email correspondence: retained only as long as needed to resolve the conversation
- Google AdSense cookies: governed by Google's retention policies (typically 30 days to 2 years depending on cookie type)
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / similar)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access personal data we hold about you (in practice: minimal to none)
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing
- Request portability of your data
Because we don't collect data from the calculators, most of these rights are satisfied by default. For any data we do hold (e.g., email correspondence), you can exercise these rights by contacting us.

Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We use standard transport-layer encryption. There is no login or stored personal data on our side, which limits the attack surface considerably.
No security system is perfect. If you discover a vulnerability, please reach out so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Substantive changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
